Jeremy Sycip built this custom MTB frame for Matthias, which will also be one of his show bikes ant NAHBS. Check out all of his sweet stuff at
http://www.sycip.com. Jeremy has become somewhat infamous for the segmented rear end capped with either pennies or nickels. A nice touch when added to the uber-pimp Sycip stainless dropouts.
Matthias wanted the front to match a Fox fork, but wanted the rear black, and to work in some XTR-ish grey as well as orange.

These are the aforementioned stays and dropouts.

This is the "base color(s)". After a little sanding, we can create the panels to make the color transition.

The pennies and dropouts after the base coat.

After sanding the rough transition, we can mask for the panels. We decided to add a seat tube panel to Matthias' original layout to make the front end look more balanced.

Now that the panel base color is down, we can start the highlighting of the edge.

Now that the panel work is finished, we can start the logo work tomorrow, and then the clear.
